GO Meetings

TIGR Prokaryotic Genome Annotation and Analysis Course

This course will familiarize attendees with TIGR's prokaryotic annotation pipeline and manual annotation tool Manatee. It will also describe how to do analysis of the prokaryotic data on the Comprehensive Microbial Resource (CMR). At this class you will learn the searches, tools, and processes we use to annotate and analyze microbial genomes.

  • June 12th — 14th, 2007 at The Institute for Genomic Research, Rockville, Maryland
  • Course website

Prokaryotic Genome Annotation and Analysis Course

TIGR Eukaryotic Genome Annotation and Analysis Course

  • June 26th — 28th, 2007 at The Institute for Genomic Research, Rockville, Maryland
  • Course website

This course will familiarize attendees with TIGR's eukaryotic annotation methods, tools and computational pipeline for annotation, including our manual annotation tool Manatee. In this class you will learn about many of the searches, tools, and processes we use to annotate, analyze and compare eukaryotic genomes. You will learn how to put together an analysis "pipeline" for the annotation of a genomic sequence, and how to determine structural and functional characteristics of the features (repeats, genes and gene products, RNAs, etc). You will have the opportunity to use real data to practice with some of the tools we use for structural and functional annotation and comparative analysis. You will also gain a deeper understanding of the annotations available in publicly accessible databases.

Eukaryotic Genome Annotation and Analysis Course

  • September 18th — 20th, 2007 at The Institute for Genomic Research, Rockville, Maryland

Related Meetings

2nd International Biocuration Meeting

  • October 25th — 28th, 2007 in San Jose, California
  • Meeting website

The 2nd International Biocuration Meeting will provide a forum for curators and developers of biological databases to discuss their work, promote collaboration, and foster a sense of community in this very active and growing area of research. For more information, please see the Biocuration Meeting website.

EMBRACE Workshop: Applied Gene Ontology

  • November 7 — 9th, 2007 in Bari, Italy
  • Meeting website

This workshop will give you insight into the GO and some GO tools such as browsers, annotation and microarray tools. We include extensive hands-on sessions so that the users can test and better understand those tools.
